SYNOPSIS

Evan Bryant wasn't your typical hero.
But he was mine.
Broken by the worlds' standards, he was still the strongest boy I would ever know.
My best friend. The boy I'd given everything to. My heart, my body, and the promise of forever.
The day I'd needed him most, he walked away.
He left me shattered and questioning the love I'd thought we'd shared.

Three years later, I wasn't prepared for him to return to Gingham Lakes.
It wouldn't have mattered if he wasn't the most beautiful man I'd ever seen.
My fingers still would have ached to caress his skin.
My body still would have begged to get lost in his touch.
And my heart . . . it would have always sung his name.
But time changes things. With it, secrets that could ruin everything.

Can we find a way to love again, or have the fears of our past stolen the hope of our forever . . .

I received an ARC in exchange of honest review

A best friends, stand-alone romance

This books was a very sweet surprise for me. Is not the typical story, this one surprise me with a male character with a condition and health problems that just brake my heart and just want to do what Frankie does the moment she meet him, love, worry and protect him. Evan is deaf and at very young age have a heart transplant, he doesn’t supposed to live long, knowing his condition and feeling (wrongly) that he is a burden for his family and thinking that Frankie and all of them needs to stop worrying about him and live their life’s at full, make him take a choice who brakes everyone’s heart. But when something big and important crash on him, the only solution is to return home and ask for help. Frankie wasn’t prepared for Evan’s return and I just wish that she give a little more hard time and not falling for him so easy. I understand Evan or at least I try, but as much I love this two resolves their problems and miscommunication, I wish Frankie wasn’t give herself and forgive him the way she does.
With that saying I can only recommends for y’all to read it and come with your own thoughts. I really liked and definitely going to read more of this author.
