It’s been three days.

Three days since the massacre.
Three days since she lost a part of herself.
Three days since she was forced to fill shoes that hadn’t yet fit.

Scarlett is the sole ruler of Ever Realm which is dying by the day. The darkness waits for no one and spreads without restraint. With the remaining that live, Dreamers and Dreammares are the closest they’ve ever been to extinction.
During a meeting, the Havened Ones bring forth information that rocks Scarlett’s already shattering world - the deadliest Nightmare, Edgar Azur is alive. They say a placed curse dies and lives with its wielder, leading Scarlett to have to take charge of the expedition that’ll free them all.

With the help of the Havened and those dear, Scarlett and her chosen team embark on a journey that’ll alter the Realms’ future. From life-threatening decisions and lethal Nightmares to mind-shattering discoveries and straining relationships, Scarlett’s ability to keep herself together will be the most wicked trial of all...

Hi, today I’m sharing my review of the second installment of a fantasy series of The Dreams Chronicles.

This time it took me a little bit to get into the story, maybe it's because it's been a year since I read the first part and I wasn't very aware or remember some of the characters and the role they have in the story. I loved the worldbuilding created by the author in the first book, although here it continues in that line I have to confess that there were times when I felt a little confused about where the characters were at certain times. With this book I did not feel that emotion that I felt with book 1 every time I turned pages, here I was not surprised with that ending, if anything I was shocked with the twist that the author gives to certain characters that we will not see again (you will understand when you read it) and that I really hope that their disappearance has a good reason in whatever the author has prepared for us in the next book.

Been said that, the ending did not surprise me at all, do I liked? No, but because I wished not to be with this cliffhanger until the next book, it is also true that I felt that the whole journey that this protagonists and friends undertake to defeat their biggest enemy left me a little disappointed with the outcome of it. Edgar and Raxon, ohhhh, not my favorites in this book.

My problem maybe is that I loved the first book so much for the twists and turns and surprises that I didn’t finding that same intensity in this one and also making me very high expectations that not being fulfilled (for me) leave me with the feeling that this has been like the slow transition of what is to come, or so I hope.

With this I don’t want to make the impression that I didn’t liked or enjoy the book, I did, is just not as much as I was expecting. One of the things I was looking forward to find out in this book was to know if some of my favorite character/hero is still good and caring for some special one ;) and on that part I can’t be more happy for how the author keep him very lovable to us <3

As I always say this is my opinion and does not necessarily have to be the same of everyone else, so I invite you to read it and form your own.

Many thanks to the author for providing me with an advanced copy of her book and trusting in my honest review.

Until the next one.
