SYNOPSIS
A love controlled by guilt, contained by rules… One summer will change everything.
No kissing.
No cuddling.
No blah, blah, blah.
He wrote the rules onto our skin—every ink stroke tragically smeared by the lines we’d crossed.
He claimed it was the only way we could be together—the only way we wouldn’t destroy our families.
But there was an exception to his rules—one he never saw coming.
All I needed was opportunity and a sunburn.
The girl who played by his rules is gone.
This girl… is not his “friend.”
This is the second book I've read by this author and although I really liked the first one, I couldn't connect with this one. I don't know what's going on that I've been reading for a few weeks now and my readings are not doing the job for me.
Maybe it's me that I have too many things in my head that no matter how hard I try I can't concentrate and focus completely on the characters, and that's totally my fault, but also the characters doesn’t catch me enough like others did. I get frustrated at how obvious I feel this couple loves each other and only one of them struggles and endures too much while the other is in total denial and avoidance of feelings.
I feel like they take too long or rather Bennett takes too long to decide to give himself a chance with Aspen, I just almost wanted Aspen to forget about him.
I like the way the author writes and although this one was not what I expected, I recommend that everyone read it and form their own opinion.
I received an ARC on exchange of my honest review. Thank you so much to the author and her PR.

MEET KRISTY MARIE
A self-proclaimed reader enthusiast, Kristy started her writing journey back in 2009, reading and writing when her daughter was napping. Establishing her place in Corporate America (because something had to pay the bills), writing became her dirty, late-night secret.
After eight long years, she released her debut novel, Commander in Briefs. It was a long road, but she can honestly say, the road less traveled had the most beautiful sights.
The only thing Kristy Marie loves as much as reading and writing is sports! Especially those that require muscles and a nice ass. Her favorite is, and always will be, baseball. She's such a fan, that she even married her small town's high school's centerfielder where they still live with their three badass kids.
