SYNOPSIS
In the Kingdom of Isk, wizards and wisemen alike must bow down before the insatiable King Beanor, whose greed for power and war is matched only by his hunger for sex. A young woman he has chosen as his next bride does not, however, wish to surrender her freedom to love and live. Will games and tricks under the sheets turn the tide in a war that has lasted thousands of years?
Can you live knowing that those who loved you never existed?
The book was a little hard to get into because this genre is not one of my favorites but I try to read new things whenever I can.
I think the story has plots and characters that make it very interesting, there are some like Lil and Miril that I want to know more about, also the time travel is something that attracted me the most, oh and others like the sex-obsessed king I can’t stand that man, I really dislike him. I honestly think that there’s to much sex interaction, for me was excessive.
I have to thank that the chapters are short and narrated by different characters even though it seemed to me that there were too many voices jumping from one to the other and that's when I got a little confused with the reading.
Something I didn't like is how the book ends and it seems that this is only the first of a series, I didn't know that and I was a little disappointed.
I think that this genre of Sci Fy fantasy still doesn't take root much in me, but I think that I will give it another chance and read book 2 when it is available.
